Go to https://www.jetbrains.com/clion/download/ and download the CLion installer for your OS.

Run the installer and follow the instructions to install CLion.
There is an Installation Options screen where you can configure:
- creating a desktop shortcut for launching CLion
- adding the directory with CLion command-line launchers to the
PATHenv variable- associating
.cppand.hppfiles with CLion to open them with a double click- adding the
Open Folder as Projectaction to the system context menu (when you right-click a folder).These options are up to you to choose. They simply add more ways to launch CLion and open projects, which can be useful but are not necessary for MTRN2500.

Once installed, when you open CLion, you will be prompted to activate the software with a license. Choose the option to
Log in to JetBrains Accountif you have one, orRegisterto create a new account. -
Create (or log in to) a JetBrains account. Once registered, you may be taken to the Licenses page (if not, navigate to it). You can click on the
Apply for a free student or teacher licenselink to apply for a free educational license (or navigate here). You can apply with a University Email Address (use your UNSW email). -
Once approved, you will be able to use the educational license to activate CLion.
CLion Setup Task
Once you have installed CLion, you can test it out by completing Getting started with CLion task in Lab 1 (which can be found on EdStem). Note that this task is not worth any marks but is a good way to familiarise yourself with CLion and get comfortable writing code and tests in the IDE (in preparation for Assignment 1).
